"Journées Cicatrisations" remains a guarantee of success
As founding member of the Woundcare Circle, DARCO presented itself from 26 to 28 January 2020 at the annual "Journées Cicatrisations" in Paris.
For DARCO it was the eighth participation since 2013 and thanks to the now available LPPR reimbursement numbers for our products and strong distribution partners in France, we are well on our way to establishing DARCO as a brand in France.
In total 3.000 trade visitors, well-filled lectures, most renowned speakers, 800 m2 of exhibition space, 52 scientific posters and intensive interdisciplinary exchange distinguished the event and this year it was also an important meeting place for all those who deal with acute and chronic wounds. The team at the Woundcare-Circle booth was the perfect meeting point for Woundcare treatment of injured feet - a growing challenge facing increasing numbers of diabetics.
In high expectation for 2021, we are already planning our participation, next year in combination with the EWMA 2021 in Paris.

Review Diabetic Off-Loading Course, Abu Dhabi, UAE
DARCO acting as ambassador of knowledge
DARCO's guideline "Innovation in Foot Care Technology" enables us to expand professional knowledge all over the world. A large number of DARCO's training programs and medical works represent modern research providing new and innovative material for physicians and medical experts.
Diabetic foot injuries are manifold and usually with a significant impairment of the mobility of the patient. The symptoms range from neuropathy and/or vasculopathy or preulcerative signs to infected or ischemic wounds, Charcot foot, severe deformities or minor amputations. Early treatment of such conditions can prevent further complications.
DARCO is aware of the enormous challenge in the proper treatment of the Diabetic foot.
We have taken this as an opportunity to present the Diabetic Foot Off-loading Algorithm® as a "Lingua Franca", to discuss with medical care givers the problems of everyday clinical life and show the therapy concepts provided by Woundcare-Circle, an international cooperation founded by DARCO and its partners OPTIMA MOLLITER and Heelift.
The 2 day Diabetic Foot Off-loading Course provided clinicians superior solutions for the redistribution of pressure at the heel, foot and ankle.
Under the motto "Get pressure ulcers under control" 55 podiatrists, physicians, nurses, therapists and orthopaedic technicians took advantage of a mixture of lectures, tutorials and hands-on practice.
Thank you to our valued partner OPTIMA MOLLITER and the Stars Medical Assistance Center at Sheik Kalifa Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi, who welcomed us for the course.

Review: Starting point Paris - DARCO is presenting latest products to the French market
Once again the Woundcare-Circle and DARCO were among the 40 exhibitors presenting their products at the annual event hosted by the French Society for Wound Healing 'Société Française et Francophone des Plaies et Cicatrisations'; a world class event: Journées Cicatrisations 2019, January 20-22, in Paris. The event brings to the forefront the latest in technological improvements and the new findings from the clinical setting. Specifically in the segment of Woundcare and solutions for the diabetic patient, our stand proved to be a central point of engagement at this event and there were hardly any other providers representing this area of discipline.
With around 3.000 visitors from francophone regions and beyond, this event serves as valuable platform for us to interact and listen to the French market. And while under the umbrella of the Woundcare-Circle, we present and explain our latest product developments with the key opinion leaders in the region as well as building our brands.
Our ground breaking innovation, the Relief Dual® is gaining recognition in France and this year we focussed on the DARCO's modular insole system developed to augment the pressure-offloading effectiveness for our product range. This is especially interesting for the offloading of plantar ulcerations.
DARCO now has registered orthopaedic solutions within the French healthcare system which means we now have reimbursement codes for a diverse range of our products. This has shifted our position dramatically in the French market. Journées Cicatrisations 2019 is a valuable event for the Woundcare-Circle; strengthening our international alliances and building a world-class brand. DARCO, OPTIMA and HEELIFT all look forward to returning in 2020.

Review: DARCO on their home turf in Munich at the annual GFFC Symposium
As always, this annual event is an exciting end to the year for DARCO. The 26th International Symposium for Foot Surgery was fun and informative. There were about 540 participants, 71 speakers and over 40 exhibitors from all over the world and as with every year, the congress was a buzz with excitement.
Our main focus this year was on a newly developed product, our "Relief Insert® Walker". This unique lower leg orthosis, couples the benefits of a positioning device with the protection of a post-op shoe. In addition we had the SBi W-Heel, AllRound Shoe® and the PegContour® Insole on display. We had numerous constructive discussions with the physicians and surgeons in attendance.
The event caps off the year and we had the opportunity to socialize with the individuals who contribute to our ideas and innovations. The event is indeed one of the more fun congresses for us and our associates and this year was no exception. Our Friday evening cocktail party, direct on our stand, is one of the highlights of the year and we enjoy this valuable time spent with the foot surgeons and colleagues.
We would like to thank everyone for visiting our booth and the resounding interest in our products. This professional exchange is held in the highest regard here at DARCO and we're already looking forward to the annual congress next year. So mark your calendars: 06. - 07. of December 2019. DARCO: not just as a spectator ...
A-DFS 4th Annual Conference June 2018:
Since the beginning and as one of the original sponsors supporting the Association of Diabetic Foot Surgeons (A-DFS), we have always believed in their mission to build relationships and strengthen cooperation among surgeons focused on treating the diabetic foot.
This years A-DFS conference was combined with the UK's King's Charcot Foot Reconstruction Symposium created by the King's College Hospital. The joint symposium successfully brought together multidisciplinary groups of international specialists focusing on the diabetic foot; orthopaedic surgeons, podiatry surgeons, vascular surgeons all working together to improve best practice in research, education and clinical interventions.
Over the 3 days of activities they hosted hands-on sessions, live cases and abstract presentations as well as poster presentations; giving the over 200 participants the unique opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with the leading diabetic foot experts from all over the world.
Under the umbrella of the Woundcare-Circle we elevated our sponsorship this year to "Gold", demonstrating our commitment to support the science and the progress for better health care for individuals with DFS. Since our inception, the Woundcare-Circle has sought to support and contribute to the advancement of education and the dissemination of knowledge. It is only fitting for DARCO and the Woundcare Circle to promote the very activities of such organizations and support their work to build the alliances needed to make a difference.
We are pleased to be part of the scientific developments in the field of the diabetic foot. International surgeons and foot specialists expressed appreciation and interest in DARCO´s progress in research and development of off-loading devices. This is a valuable occasion to contribute in an open exchange and participate in the dialogue intended to create better solutions for the surgeons and clinics. EWMA 2018
DARCO Diabetes and Woundcare products at Europe's biggest Woundcare event
For many years now the European Wound Management Association Event (EWMA) is a fundamental part of DARCO Europe's efforts to make an impact on the management of wounds.
As an international organization, it's extremely important that DARCO is present at the EWMA annual conference. Key opinion leaders gather from all over the world to discuss the topic of wounds on the highest professional level. For years now, DARCO has taken a strong interest in this growing public health concern. DARCO develops effective and practical footwear solutions for people suffering from diabetes.
Because of the broad concerns surrounding the cause and prevention of diabetic foot ulcers, it made sense once again to present DARCO products under the umbrella of the Woundcare-Circle at this year's EWMA meeting in Kraków.
The common goal of the WCC members is to offer a platform presenting effective treatment for the diabetic foot through the multiple phases of wound healing. Providing the medical specialists and the home care professionals with clear paths to effective solutions supports our efforts to have an impact on the management of wound care.
The 29th annual EWMA Conference in Krakow welcomed nearly 4,000 visitors from 81 countries, demonstrating the global reach of the concern and the importance of wound care management. DARCO is a worldwide player in the area of orthopaedic solutions and in Kraków we had the enormous opportunity to engage the wide range of international guests to the event. As with every WCC event, a member from all 3 organizations was present and in Kraków we had our local partner from Poland; ICONIC also addressing the multicultural delegation.
We carried forward the mantra of the WCC and our mission statement "Get pressure ulcers under control" elevating awareness and providing effective solutions.
A cornerstone of the event was the workshop from Professor Dr. Piaggesi, now president of EWMA. The worksho's title: "Diabetic Foot - Assessments, Off-loading and Footwear". He specifically pointed out the importance of off-loading the diabetic foot and demonstrated the use and benefit of several products out of the Woundcare-Circle's product range.
Without question, the event was an engaging and enlightening gathering for all. We not only took away with us the sense of positively contributing improvements to a worldwide health concern but also the tremendously valuable exchange of insightful perspectives from the leaders in the field. It remains a very powerful event for DARCO and the WCC.
A visit to EWMA is a step in the right direction to "Get pressure ulcers under control". We hope to see you there next year in Sweden.

Review: DARCO attending Arab Health in Dubai
Over the past years Arab Health has become an integral part in the international calendar of events for DARCO. Arab Health is the second largest healthcare fair in the world and the largest in the Middle East. For DARCO this fair is a stepping stone into the markets of the Middle East as well as for India.
4.072 exhibitors out of 68 countries attend this year's industrial exhibition in 23 exhibition halls. The total number of participants showed a number of 102.666, an increase of 5% to 2017.
For DARCO this event offered again good investment, export opportunities, and expansion options in the region. As international as the trade show was, as international was the DARCO team on site, representing our headquarter based in the USA and the subsidiaries in Europe and India. Everyone again was benefitting from the various discussions and valuable business contacts at the booth.
2019 Arab Health will take place in Dubai January 28th to 31st.
DARCO will certainly be on board again!

DARCO and Woundcare-Circle
present innovative product solutions at Journées Cicatrisations Paris
"A strong and committed team is able to successfully develop and sell innovative medical products and concepts in wound management while keeping costs competitive"
This is just one way to characterize DARCO´s work within the Woundcare-Circle (WCC).
DARCO started the New Year in Paris France: "Journées Cicatrisations". This year's event focused on the "2018 Updates in Wound Technology" and we were certainly honoured to participate at this year's congress. Every year the French Wound Healing Society (SFFPC) gathers specialists in the field from all over the world. Leaders in their area of expertise explained and demonstrated new technologies that are utilized in wound care and in healing. They come together here to share their latest findings derived from the clinical setting. DARCO not only established valuable contacts but more importantly it allowed us to hear the concerns of Dr.s and nurses.
DARCO is one of the founding members of Woundcare-Circle which was founded in 2012. This was our fifth time participating in the International Symposium, which provides valuable opportunities to interact with professionals in the French market. We met with doctors, nurses, speciality practitioners and key opinion leaders in the field of wound care. The portfolio of DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle is detailed through our Diabetic Foot Off-loading Algorithm which is based on a clinically approved therapy programme. The Algorithm elevates the WCC philosophy and our approach to prevention and treatment of foot ulcerations.
DARCO (Europe) aspires to make significant contributions to the French market and the congress was a great start to 2018. We are now allowed to offer high quality solutions while working within the parameters of the French medical device system. We look forward to returning in 2019 to "Journées Cicatrisations" and we certainly hope to see you there.

Liverpool: 2017 is now coming to a close and DARCO (Europe) is now also winding down a year packed with International congresses and exhibitions. Every year in November is the Annual College of Podiatry Conference (COP). This is a very poplar event and superbly organized by the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists. This year's event was held at the ACC Liverpool in heart of the wharf district in Liverpool UK. The conference is the largest podiatry event in Europe; hence, the over 1400 delegates attending a unique program with interesting scientific lectures, workshops and the latest in podiatry products on the market today. Podiatrists are a specialized breed always striving to create the best environment with the highest quality of products within and outside of the NHS health care system for their patients. The attendees streamed into the exhibition hall to view the wares from professional organizations and associations reaching across Europe. DARCO was among the 80 different exhibitors and received overwhelming positive feedback. We service the UK through our strong alliances and provide products within and outside of the NHS.
DARCO as an international group operating worldwide manufacturing orthopaedic foot and ankle products are proud to have been in attendance. Our slogan: Always "one step ahead" was with the intension to focus on the theme of this years conference "keep moving". We formally introduced just one of our latest innovations, the "Relief Dual®" to the Podiatrist community and received positive recognition. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth this year and for the truly worthwhile discussions. Looking forward to seeing you again in 2018.

DARCO and Woundcare-Circle:
Strong partners in the international diabetic foot society
"Three days of high quality sessions on soft tissue infections osteomyelitis, revascularization, organization, setting and education, Charcot, critical limb ischemia, wound closure strategies as well as excellent poster presentations, oral presentations from abstracts, prize winning presentations and satellite symposia" (http://a-dfs.org/conference-2017/)
The annual meeting of the Association for Diabetic Surgeons (A-DFS) took place this year in Venice Italy and exceeded our expectations. At this year's meeting there were more than 250 participants; tripling the attendance from the previous year in Stuttgart. And the international guest list was impressive. Specialists from more than 42 countries came together to discuss best practice in research, education and clinical interventions. The event supported and fortified cooperation between foot surgeons in the field of the diabetic foot.
DARCO has been a strong supporter of this society since A-DFS was established in 2014. We do this not just because we develop products for wound care and for the diabetic foot, but also because it´s has always been our credo to support knowledge sharing and the development of new treatment standards to improve the quality of life for diabetic patients.
DARCO is one of the original founders of the Woundcare-Circle and this year, we attended the meeting under this umbrella. "Get pressure ulcers under control" is the message we place at the Woundcare-Circle Symposium. Our workshop was conducted by some of the leading experts in the field; Javier Aragón Sánchez (Spain), Alberto Piaggesi (Italy), Dane Wukich (USA) and Giacomo Clerici (Italy). The workshop title: The added value of Modern offloading in the Surgical Management of the Diabetic Foot: An Algorithm to link Science and Clinical Practice. The workshop was attended by over 150 guests and the professionals gave interesting lectures on the topic and also explained the philosophy of the Woundcare-Circle. Visitors were introduced to DARCO, Heelift and OPTIMA products, while addressing the growing need for effective solutions for the professional care giver.
By introducing our products to the international community of diabetic foot specialists, we elevated the interest in the DARCO product portfolio on Diabetes and Woundcare products. The DARCO "Relief Dual®" was the topic of many discussions and worthwhile interactions. DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle are pleased to have participated in this year's event providing quality time and expertise for the attendees of the A-DFS meeting and we're looking forward to 2018. We would love to see you there!

"ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK" in Cologne, Germany
DARCO was on location this year and witnessed first-hand how the event has grown since its inception 8 years ago. Occurring every two years, this was the first time DARCO was a Silver sponsor supporting this multi-faceted congress. The focus of the event draws a unique mix of manufactures, service providers and educational institutions combined with researchers, technicians and orthopedic surgeons. It is one of the principal orthopedic technical events in Central Europe placing great attention on advancements and innovations in the industry. Visitors and delegates alike, all strive to not only cultivate improvements but to keep abreast of the progress in orthotic footwear and devices.
"OST" as it is fondly known, presented an ideal opportunity for us to launch two of our latest innovations allowing us to reach across multiple areas of interest. We were able to discuss our vision and we had constructive dialog with the professionals in the field. The feedback was positive and the introduction of the Relief Insert® Walker and our new AllRound Shoe® was well received.

"Supporting wound treatment in a contemporary structure and in accordance with the current status of medical advancements in German speaking countries and European regions"; so reads the mission of WundD.A.CH.
Since 2012 WundD.A.CH is the parent organisation of all German speaking associations and groups, which are strategically and operatively active in the field of wound management.
The organization was founded by professional associations; AWA (Austrian Wound Association), ICW e.V. (Initiative Chronic Wounds) and SAfW (Swiss Association for Wound Care).
As one of the founding members of the Woundcare-Circle, this year's meeting was important for two reasons. Our first objective was to present glimpse into our on-going activities with the WCC as well as to exhibit therapeutic products in the field of diabetic and Woundcare. And this year it was our intension to provide a unique meeting place for the German delegates.
On board at the event was DARCO's Swiss based distributor Orthopartner, as well as our DARCO counterpart in Austria profeet.
DARCO demonstrated its leadership in the treatment of foot and ankle wounds and presented itself as a specialist at the jointly held booth under the umbrella of the Woundcare-Circle. The WWC was proud to host a lunch symposium under the title of THE "DIABETIC FOOT" MODERN KNOWLEDGE AND CONCEPTS FOR TREATMENT Saturday.
The lectures were given by PD Dr. Med. Dieter Mayer senior physician and Specialist for Vascular surgery and Surgery at Kantonsspital Freiburg, CH and the senior physician, team leader in technical orthopaedics at the University Hospital Balgrist Zurich, CH; Dr. med. Thomas Böni.

In the filled lecture hall the visitors followed the explanations given by the Specialists and also became familiar with the Woundcare-Circle Algorithm, a guideline for the Diabetic Foot Off-Loading through all phases of the disease. We are thankful to all the visitors who came to our booth and to those who attended the symposium. It's always an enlightening worthwhile experience for DARCO to attend the WundD.A.CH events and we look forward to the next one.

How we welcomed our European distributors!
Every second year or so, DARCO invites its key distributors throughout Europe here to Raisting. Ours partners receive a closer look into the direction DARCO is headed. There were scientific lectures, insights into the development of a product and the shift in our manufacturing model.
Our European partners mean a great deal to us and we always try to schedule the event during a nice time of year so our guests can also enjoy the Upper Bavarian culture, hospitality, beautiful nature, and of course a little bit of local fun. This year was no exception, we were able to host all of our guests to an evening at the 'one of a kind', world famous, Oktoberfest.
Without question, a good time was had by all, but more importantly; the DARCO Distributor Meeting is one way for us to say thank you to our very loyal partners. We made sure the meeting was packed-filled with information and exchange. We want to see our partners face to face and obtain a better understanding of each one and learn how, we together, can formulate solutions to the obstacles on the ground in their respective regions. We wanted to explore how we can build a stronger brand together to improve each business throughout the continent.
We took the opportunity to learn from one another on the topic of a "Digital World". The setting allows us to explore and compare the many ideas of how to overcome the disruption of changing Health care regulations and the competition. Everyone shares, listens and engages it was very inspiring.
Our guests from 10 countries left knowing the latest about DARCO- our restructuring into HG DARCO GROUP, the German manufacturing expansion in Köhra and right here in Raisting and our desire to engage direct "Open Innovation" with our distributors. There will certainly be more to come in 2019- we're excited about the future.

Spreading the word: DARCO pointing out new concepts of modern offloading at DFSG
"Advancement of knowledge on all aspects of diabetic foot care", this was the theme of this year's DFSG meeting. Same as in previous years, DARCO was taking part at the annual event of DFSG under the umbrella of Woundcare-Circle. This year's meeting took place in famous Porto, Lisboa, located along the Douro river estuary in northern Portugal, registered UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The three day meeting offered a unique opportunity to meet with leading Diabetic Foot experts and to be updated on the diabetic foot research happening across Europe.
Besides providing innovative product solutions, DARCO is qualified by it's long lasting and permanent support and funding of the research, the science and the management of foot disease. DFSG Porto is the perfect platform for us to introduce DARCO's offloading products and the algorithm of Woundcare-Circle, of which DARCO is a founding member. Besides high-quality lectures and an interesting exhibition area, the visitors were invited to also join special workshops.
More than half of the 300 attendees visited the Woundcare-Circle workshop where Dr. Alberto Piaggesi (Italy), Dr. Claudia Giacomozzi (Italy) and Dr. José Luis Lázaro Martínez (Spain) explained new concepts of modern offloading.

Review: DARCO at Summer School
Bergamo, Italy
"Real life in a multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot Centre"
This is how the Diabetic Foot International Summer School of Surgery gets to the heart of the issue.
Since its inception, the Diabetic Foot International Summer School of Surgery has drawn experts and professionals from around the world to the event and is now considered one of the most profiled seminars for foot surgeons in the international community.
This year's event was at Humanitas Gavazzeni Hospital, Bergamo, Italy. Bringing together the world's top experts, the seminar's focus was specifically addressing: Diabetic Foot Infection, Ischemic Diabetic Foot, Charcot Foot, Plastic Surgery, Revascularization and Amputation as well as Postoperative offloading methods to prevent avoidable complications. They designed interactive discussions on a case by case basis with the experts. The Summer School seminar is limited to 15 participants worldwide. The scientific board was comprised of international heavy-weights from across continents: Dr. Giacomo Clerici (Bergamo, Italy), Prof. Robert G. Frykberg (Phoenix, USA), Prof. Chris Attinger (Washington DC, USA) and Dr. Fermin Martinez de Jesus (Veracruz, Mexico) just to name a few.
Unique to this scientific seminar, surgeons are entitled to access to the operating theatre and Cath labs (Examination rooms). In addition, the professionals have direct access to the in-patient wards and out-patient clinics.
On July 5th DARCO and its partners of the Woundcare-Circle conducted a "Hands-On" workshop focusing on the question: "what is the best choice for our patients?" The Woundcare-Circle presented clinically approved therapy programmes and products were explained in detail that offered specific solutions based on need and severity. We explored product options from casting to walkers and re-visited the importance for effective off-loading devices.
DARCO would like to thank the organizer for inviting us and allowing us the opportunity to face the international community of diabetic and wound care surgeons. With respect and honor we would support the Diabetic Foot International Summer School again in 2018.

Why is DARCO (Europe) in Bavaria involved in an event for the Chinese market?
DARCO is an international company with operations around the world; USA, Europe, China and India. We participate actively in international events and tradeshows.
Our involvement on exhibitions, conferences and professional meetings allow us to communicate directly with the professional associations and the medical community. Which at the end of the day; actually brings us closer to our customers and to the people whom, through our products, enjoy an improvement in the quality of their lives. Through these commitments we develop a sense for the market place and we have the chance to establish ourselves and our position with our competitors. Finally and perhaps most importantly, we have the opportunity to engage the experts in the field 'face to face' in demanding, thought provoking discussions. These are the building blocks behind our innovations with product development.
For many years DARCO (Europe) has been organising the booth of DARCO China at the 'China Medical Equipment Fair CMEF' within the Bavarian Pavilion.
The "China Medical Equipment Fair" in Shenzhen, China is the premier 'Medical Device' event in the Asian-Pacific region. The event draws nearly 4000 exhibitors from 150 nations every Spring and Fall. Shenzhen has an average age of 29 and its 15 million residents boast an annual growth of 20%; clearly one of the most dynamic cities in China and in the world. It's the perfect setting for the more than 110,000 visitors that converge on the 'mega city'. And for DARCO with our 30 years of expertise, we score big with our innovative, high quality orthopaedic footwear and soft goods at this event. DARCO has the 'know how' and the experience to develop effective world-wide campaigns. For us it's important to remain close to our customers and to fortify our international brand on the world market place.
The CMEF fall show is already approaching and once again DARCO (Europe) is looking forward to assisting our operations at DARCO China.

Review Arab Health 2017:
DARCO goes Dubai
DARCO International is dedicated to being one of the leading providers of post op, trauma and wound care solutions to the global foot and ankle community.
For many years running now, we've been on-sight at the Arab Health Dubai Congress. We're "one of the family" among the exhibitors and place great value in the event. Arab Health Dubai is the largest healthcare exhibition & medical congress in the Middle East and the second largest in the world.
Notably this year was the evidence that diabetes is on the rise worldwide and the elevated awareness for prevention and treating the diabetic foot has intensified in the Middle East. The need for solutions and effective treatments for the diabetic foot was vividly prevalent.
DARCO is continually working on more effective solutions for prevention and the treatment of pressure ulcers on the foot; while never losing sight of the need for postoperative solutions. This is DARCO's territory. With passion and dedication we've continued to evolve with this rapidly changing world for more than 30 years.
Arab Health Dubai is colourful and full of variety, so is DARCO. It's beyond the manufacturing and sale of products; DARCO a worldwide group with headquarters in the USA and subsidiaries in Europe, China and India, is committed to the continued progress for better healthcare possibilities. And we are dedicated to the education of physicians as well as health care providers engaged in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle throughout the world.
It was a successful meeting in Dubai this year and we look forward to returning again in 2018.

Review: Wounds on the foot?Société Française et Francophone des Plaies et Cicatrisations (SFPPC)
The French Society for Wound Healing organizes its traditional annual meeting in Paris.
From the 15th to 17th of January this year 3,500 professionals; including doctors, caregivers, surgeons and pharmacists all gathered at Palais des Congrès in Paris to contribute to the progress of the discipline.
This year, SFFPC included a Special Session called Update in Wound Technologies (UWT) regarding new technologies in the treatment of Ulcers of the diabetic foot and leg.
Prof. Alberto Piaggesi, Pisa, Italy (Council Member EWMA) moderated the topic "How new technologies have improved the Off-loading of the diabetic foot in the phases of prevention, therapy and re-adaptation"
Together with our partners of the Woundcare-Circle we develop new concepts and superior solutions for clinicians and patients under the mission "Get pressure ulcers under control" and the Diabetic Foot Off-loading Algorithm©, developed by Franco Salvatelli, is gaining more and more international recognition.
Since 2013, DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle have been participating in the French Wound Healing Congress. Under new organization and management, this year's event was not only insightful for all attendees but also proved to be an enormous success. The healing of wounds and improving the quality of life for the diabetic patient is the common goal. DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle are very proud to be part of this event.
The Woundcare-Circle team was comprised of US, Italian, German and Swiss members and our booth was the center of great interest as we explored the growing requirements with in-depth discussions and offered insights specific to individual needs. Visitors were introduced to DARCO, Heelift and OPTIMA products, addressing the growing need for effective solutions for the professional care giver.
By introducing new products as well to the French market, we elevated the interest in the Diabetic Foot Off-loading Algorithm© effectiveness and the Woundcare-Circle philosophy. The DARCO "Relief Dual" and the OPTIMA "SBi", were both the topic of many discussions and worthwhile interactions. DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle are pleased to have participated in this year's event providing time and expertise for the attendees of the Journées Cicatrisations and we are looking forward to 2018. Review: College of Podiatry Annual Conference
Glasgow, Scotland, Nov 17 - 19, 2016
The College of Podiatry Annual Conference was a successful but also challenging tradeshow and it was DARCO'sfirst time exhibiting at this renowned event. The Annual Conference is Europe'sbiggest and most notable podiatry conference on the continent. Hosted in various cities every year, this year'svenue was in the historical Scottish city of Glasgow.
Over 1,200 podiatrists, 100 speakers and 80 Exhibitors joined the meeting during the 3 day event. The UK has the largest society of Podiatrist in Europe and this discipline is experiencing phenomenal growth in the private sector. DARCO'smessage was received positively as we show-cased the next generation of off-loading shoes and the advances we've made with the redistribution of weight on the plantar surface. The sophistication of our innovations was received enthusiastically among the professionals in the field.
The next College of Podiatry Annual Conference is now scheduled for the 16-18 November 2017 at the ACC Convention Centre in Liverpool. Our reception was so overwhelmingly positive, we will certainly return to the conference next year. We hope to see you there.

Review: DARCO Diabetes and Woundcare Products in Scandinavia
2nd Nordic Diabetic Foot Symposium,
Copenhagen, Denmark, 5 - 6 October 2016
With great pleasure DARCO participated at the 2nd Nordic Diabetic Foot Symposium on 5-6 October 2016, at Copenhagen University under the umbrella of Woundcare-Circle.
"The symposium provided a forum for sharing and dissemination of high level scientific evidence as well as local examples of best practice diabetic foot care. It also served as a platform for coordinating the joint effort of promoting guideline implementation in each of the Nordic countries" 1
Following the mission of the NDF Symposia, Woundcare-Circle presented Symposia: "An Algorithm for Modern Off-loading... and not only" presented by Dr. Clerici (Italy), with chairman's Dr. Klaus Klaus Kirketerp-Møller, Chair Nordic Diabetic Foot Symposium (Denmark) and Dr. De Giglio (Italy).
During the discussion in the plenum it became obvious, how important the exchange of interdisciplinary knowledge in diabetic footcare is. Off-loading devices - not only during day time - are mandatory for the prevention and healing of diabetic foot ulcerations. New technologies offer also for industrialised devices more and more customized solutions and therefore can be adapted to patients needs more easily. Once again the Woundcare-Circle Algorithm, established as a guideline for treatment of diabetic foot in daily practice, corresponding with the International Guidelines of Diabetic Foot, The Hague 2015, described appropriate solutions for specific indications and difficult foot problems.
The accompanying poster session showed the user report of the Orthotic Management after Chopart Amputation in Diabetic Patients published by Dr. De Giglio (Italy). The Body Armor® Pro Term Foot Stump Orthosis is developed by DARCO is a superb intermediate treatment to support normal stump and the poster met with a high level of interest.
Thank you to all our supporters. We are looking forward to the next Nordic Diabetic Foot Symposia.

REVIEW: World Union of Wound Healing Societies, Florence, September 25-29, 2016
WUWHS had been organized under the motto "One Vision, One Mission" to summarize a precise objective in a few clear words: to promote with determination a greater coalescence and integration of all the Scientific Societies around the world that have the care of skin wounds as their main mission.1)
DARCO participated for the first time under the umbrella of Woundcare-Circle at WHWUS and proudly supported the Focus Session on Off-loading the Diabetic Foot. The session was presented by Prof. Alberto Piaggesi, Director of the Diabetic Foot Section of the University Hospital of Pisa, Tuscany in reference to the Pisa Charcot Foot Protocol and his experiences with different off-loading devices following diabetic foot treatment. Among those DARCO, OPTIMA Molliter and Heelift devices were used to prevent pressure ulcers, decreasing healing-time, increasing quality of life and compliance of the patient.
Concluding the focus session Prof. Alberto Piagessi presented the current Woundcare-Circle Algorithm corresponding with the International Guidelines of DFSG in, The Hague 2015 as a guideline for use of off-loading footwear in daily practice.
In addition to the Focus Session, DARCO presented its range of products at the booth. This gave us the opportunity to interact with the more than 4000 participants of the conference.
Visitors from all parts of the world shared the mission of Woundcare-Circle "Get pressure ulcers under control" and were updated on the proved and innovative solutions of DARCO Diabetic and Woundcare products.
New friendships and collaborations started. We would like to say THANK YOU to everyone for making this conference a success for DARCO and the Woundcare-Circle. We are grateful to WUWHS, Dr. Romanelli and Dr. Vladimir Obolenskiy for their generous support. Many thanks also to Prof. Alberto Piagessi, Prof. David Armstrong and Dott. Review: 13th annual meeting of the Diabetic Foot Study Group, Stuttgart
The annual conference of the Diabetic Foot Study Group is always highly scientific and innovative. This year's event took place in Stuttgart September 9-11. For insiders and new arrivals this unique atmosphere is both instructive and international linking. Therefore, it wasn't surprising that when our speakers Prof. Dr. Maximilian Spraul, Prof. Alberto Piaggesi, Dr. José Luis Lázaro Martínez and Prof. Dr. David Armstrong opened the Woundcare-Circle Symposium "Off-Loading: Evidence, Practice and Strategies", more than 170 participants followed the lecture. Prof. Dr. David Armstrong presented the Woundcare-Circle Algorithm for modern Off-Loading and the Diabetic Foot in remission which is based on the current International Guide Lines of Diabetic Foot 2015.
Woundcare-Circle, as a global partnership, provides clinicians and patients superior solutions for the redistribution of pressure at the heel, foot and ankle by enabling the development and dissemination of clinical evidence focusing on best practice based on a clinically approved therapy programme.

Review EWMA Bremen 2016 - DEUTSCHER WUNDKONGRESS
The World Leading Wound Conference - DARCO Europe in best company.
This year's joint conference was the biggest EWMA conference ever and therefore also the world leading wound conference. The organizers reported that over 6,000 attendees and exhibitors from 84 countries joined the conference this year.
As published in our E-Journal, DARCO Europe was in cooperation with the Woundcare-Circle at the event. This home turf advantage was highlighted by our Live product demonstrations. The emphasis was on knowledge-sharing and product application techniques within our range of Diabetic and Woundcare products.
Once more the intensive exchange of information with practitioners and international specialists at the booth demonstrates that DARCO is dedicated to creating devices to help such ailments. Our Diabetic, Off-loading and Wound Care line of shoes are focused on prevention as well as designed to aid and facilitate the healing process of wounds and ulcers.
As one of the founding members of the Woundcare-Circle, DARCO supports research and development as well as training courses.
